First Day

So let me begin by saying that biking to work sucks but biking back home is worse. Anyways so today was my first day at Newgrounds. I was greeted by a confused Rob but he was real chill about it. Tom Fulp continued to prove to be the nicest and chillest dude ever. So we discussed the game at hand and are starting to work out some details. small details such as the fact that i have zero programming background. its kind of like MTV's Made but quieter and with less commercials. but i digress. so the game i'm developing is called Phlash Mob. its based around the recent flash mobs in my lovely city of Philadelphia. the game will focus on the player controlling one person who slowly attracts a mob around him. you then proceed to riot and dodge obstacles and police.

So after some work, the ever wonderful Bob came in and told Tom it was lunch time. I was introduced to the remainder of staff i hadn't met (cept Josh). I'd go through and give my impressions of everyone but that might be rude. Basically every is really chill and fun. Jeff really is that good at Street Fighter and Stamper really acts like that all the time. Its really weird meeting a bunch of people and being like "i love your work" every time.

We went to the train station's cafe, where they know Tom and the boys by name. We had some wraps and burritos and soup and watched Bob do a crossword right next to the porn ads in the city paper. its a cool cafe even if its a bit of a wait for stuff. upon return we worked some more. Tom then let me check out some of the stuff coming down the pipeline soon. Gonna keep it a secret but its all very cool.
So here is the first bit of code I learned with some horrendous filler art. AS2 is pretty easy to get used to it seems, i'm just dumb. but learning if and else statements should be a second language at the end of these three weeks.
i'm not gonna post the game every day so i don't ruin the surprise.
